Post-Thanksgiving....

Is anyone as depressed as I am about how quickly this break went by? For me, it's been a teaser... "Hey! Here's a little piece of Christmas break. Now that you've seen it...go take finals!" On a good note, however, my last post was a success...I actually got some work done. After waking up at 4 AM to shop on Black Friday, I managed to get started on my Praxis Paper. I found that going back and re-reading a lot of the books from the beginning of the semester was really rewarding. I'm just excited to pound through these next three weeks and then be able to enjoy the movie Elf without having to worry about finals week being right around the corner...

  1. It is a big, horrible, movie-filled tease. Elf is always full of win. :)

My brain gave up this past week and I am hoping reading blogs will jump start it. Your Praxis Paper beginnings do it- I think I will go peruse some books and see if inspiration hits.

  2. I'm also slightly (which may be an understatement) dreading these next two weeks. I took the same approach with another paper this past week and plan to do the same for the praxis paper in the coming weeks. Good luck! I also really enjoy Elf. :)

  3. I LOVE ELF. Ahh the praxis paper, yes. For me I got kinda lucky in Bonnie presenting an idea for me but I am thinking I will probably end up going back to some of those books too! Just like all my papers, I am sure I will be completing it under pressure. Sigh...why would I ever get ahead on something.I am jealous you are ahead of me.

  5. Every year before Thanksgiving break hits I say that I'm going to get all my work done during break so I can coast the rest of the year...and then Monday hits and I wonder where my break went and why my pants don't seem to fit as well.

  6. I definitely did a lot on Thanksgiving. Aside from eating turkey and taking a nap, I made myself do work during the day (which also got me out of a lot of preparation duties, an added plus). We all seem to want a longer break, but in teaching, we never really seem to get one because there is always something we could be doing. I think taking a day or two off to regroup could be wonderful--I'll let you know when I find time to do it...
